An Art Deco sterling silver and blue enamel compact by Mappin & Webb, the celebrated English silversmiths and Crown jewellers, hallmarked 1939.
The square hinged case is decorated with translucent sky-blue guilloche enamel over an engine-turned silver ground, the sunburst engine-turning shimmering beneath the enamel. It opens to a fitted compact interior with mirror and powder well.
A stylish and collectable piece of late Art Deco ladies' silver by one of Britain's most respected makers.
