Pair of antique Louis XVI style mirrors in carved gilded wood, dating to circa 1750–1800, with original mercury mirrors and signs of age.
Description from the seller
Pair of Louis XVI Gilt Mirrors Fine 18th Century
Elegant pair of Louis XVI gilt mirrors dating to the late 18th century, crafted in finely carved and gilded wood. The frames feature a flowing, harmonious line, enriched by rich ornamental motifs with volutes, vegetal elements, and a carved pediment that lends great elegance to the ensemble. The mirrors retain their old original mercury-backed plates, characterized by natural tarnish and evident signs of age that attest to their authenticity and vintage charm. The back retains the original wooden frame with old mounting systems. The gilding shows the typical patina of time, with light wear and small losses consistent with the object's age, not compromising its decorative value. A refined pair of mirrors, ideal for furnishing classic rooms, historic homes, or antique collections.
