Description from the seller
Description:
The Lesa SC 1903 (also known as the Stereocompact S.C. 1903) is a rare, vintage stereo turntable produced in the early 1970s by the well-known Italian brand LESA (Lavorazioni Elettromeccaniche Società Anonima) from Milan.
Clean, tested and undamaged.
Vintage 1970s, Milan
Material: Wood and plastic
Main features;
Integrated system: It is an all-in-one stereo system with a built-in amplifier. It was supplied at the time including two corresponding external wooden speakers (not included)
3 Speeds: The turntable is suitable for playing 33, 45 and 78 rpm records.
Automatic system: The player features an automatic mechanism for starting or changing records.
Stylus and Needle: The standard is that this model is equipped with the Lesa K3 ceramic crystal element (wendé system). Replacement needles for this are still readily available online via specialty shops.
Design: Typically Italian design from that era, characterized by a wooden (or wood-look plastic) housing, a transparent Plexiglas dust cover and separate controls for the volume (left/right separate) and the tone/treble (bass/loudness).
Historical context:
LESA was a highly respected Italian manufacturer, founded in 1929, which, besides record players, made high-quality electronic components. Unfortunately, the company had to close its doors in 1972 due to intense competition from cheaper electronics from the Far East. The SC 1903 is one of the last series the brand released.
This beautiful turntable with built-in amplifier will be packed with the utmost care for shipping. Excluding shipping to islands located outside the Netherlands.
