Dokorder 1140 – Professional 4-channel reel-to-reel recorder – Japan, late 1970s
For sale a prestigious Dokorder 1140, one of the most fascinating and sought-after drum/coil recorders from Japanese production of the Seventies. Designed for Hi-Fi and semi-professional applications, it represents the pinnacle of Dokorder technology of the era, with a very robust construction, solid-state electronics and three-motor transport.
This model is especially appreciated by collectors and audiophiles for its 4-channel (Quadraphonic) recording, the 3 playback/recording heads, electromagnetic control of functions, and high-level sound quality.
Main features

The Dokorder 1140 today is an extremely sought-after recorder for its iconic design, build quality and outstanding sonic performance. A unit that represents an important chapter in the history of Japanese analog high-fidelity and a piece of great interest for any vintage Hi-Fi collection.

Rare specimen, hardly available on the international market, especially in these conservation conditions. The Dokorder 1140 is regarded as one of the most sought-after reel-to-reel recorders in Dokorder’s lineup thanks to its professional 4-channel configuration, high-level performance and limited diffusion. Today it represents a genuine collectible for enthusiasts of analog recording and vintage Hi-Fi. Its appearance on the market is increasingly rare, particularly for complete and well-preserved specimens:

> **Shipping:** given the rarity, value and weight of the unit (about **30 kg**), the shipping methods and the related cost will be **agreed with the buyer at the end of the auction**.
