Three decorative vintage wooden stools from the Netherlands, with beech and oak construction in brown tones, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and stains, dating to circa 1960–1970 and featuring round or four‑sided seats with dimensions around 22–30 cm in height and 22–26 cm in seat diameter.
Description from the seller
Three very decorative milk stools. The two stools with the round seat date from the 1960s (or perhaps a little earlier, and the stool with the four-sided seat is probably a bit younger (the 1970s or 1980s of the last century).
The dimensions
Stool light brown with round seat
weight: 1.25kg
height: 27.5cm
seat diameter: 24cm
material: solid beech
Stool dark brown with round seat
weight: 1.7kg
height: 30cm
seat diameter: 22cm
material: solid oak
Stool with four-sided seat
weight: 1.6kg
height: 23cm
width: 26cm
depth: 20cm
material: solid oak
The stools are completely stable. They have a sturdy round top and the three legs stand firmly in it.
Whether the stools were made as milk stools is not entirely certain, but they have the form for it. The four-sided one has an industrial shape with the 'cut' corners. People did this so that someone sitting on the stool (such as the milking farmer) would not injure their legs on the sharp corners.
You can regard them as stools; they are still sturdy enough for use, but they can also be used nicely as plant stands or pedestal stands (see photos). The stools still look very good. They naturally bear signs of use in the form of small scratches and gouges or moisture stains on the top (see photos), but these are logical signs of use that the stools have after more than 60 years of use. It adds a piece of history to the furniture. They are still 100% stable.
In any interior these stools are very decorative and functional pieces of furniture!
The stools are professionally packed and insured for shipping.
