Description from the seller

Mithé Espelt (1923-2020) — Rare Jewelry Box 'Rose' — Ceramic, Fine Gold & Crystallized Glass — Monochrome Beige Edition RARE

A rare opportunity for collectors of French Mid-Century design.

This splendid enameled earthenware jewelry box is signed by Mithé Espelt, the renowned Lunel ceramicist. The model "Stylized Rose" features a modernist graphic with absolute elegance.

Monochrome Beige Colorway RARE: Unlike the classic versions on dark backgrounds or pinkish hues, this beige-and-gold variant is an absolute rarity on the market. A chic, timeless minimalism.

The heart of the lid incorporates sumptuous crystallizations of crushed glass (frit glass), surrounded by lines of liquid 12% pure gold fired at low heat.

The piece retains its original dark green English felt under the base and inside the lid. This is the genuine atelier mark (Mithé Espelt never signed in the clay to avoid scratching furniture).

Very good display condition, enamel very bright and gilding radiant.

Two angles of the lid benefited from an old, careful restoration (filling and crack lines touched up by hand).

Very discreet, it is included in the reserve price and does not alter the object's splendor (see macro photos).
A centerpiece, ultra-graphic, ready to join an demanding collection.

The photos are proof.

Careful and secure shipping.
