Calcite crystals from Chenzhou, Hunan, China; a single specimen with a dominant central crystal and smaller accompanying crystals, measuring 200 mm high, 125 mm wide and 70 mm deep, colorless to milky-white crystals with high luster, good transparency and internal rainbow reflections.
Description from the seller
This impressive specimen also comes from the renowned locality of Chenzhou, known for producing high-quality and aesthetic calcites.
It is a striking example of the mineral calcite, composed of a group of robust, colorless to milky-white crystals with very good transparency and beautiful internal rainbow reflections. The dominant feature of the piece is the presence of large, perfectly developed crystals with typical scalenohedral to pseudo-hexagonal forms, giving the specimen a strong three-dimensional presence.
The crystals exhibit a high luster and, in places, delicate growth lines on their faces that enhance their natural structure. Some areas are nearly transparent, allowing a view into the internal structure of the crystals and highlighting their clarity.
The composition is very well balanced—the dominant central crystal is complemented by smaller, aesthetically arranged individuals that create a rich and full appearance. The overall impression is elegant, clean, and highly attractive to collectors.
