Rare Opinel collection knife, limited numbered series produced in 1992 for the 5th Centenary of the Discovery of America; model dedicated to Cristoforo Colombo, serial number 16348, with a palisander wood handle and a bronze oval insert, a mirror-polished stainless steel blade laser-engraved with the three caravels, complete with the original box (red velvet insert and original leaflet); in excellent overall condition, with an excellent unsharpened blade and minor oxidation spots on the Virobloc safety ring from storage.

Rare Opinel collection knife, special numbered limited series produced in 1992 to mark the 5th Centennial of the Discovery of America (1492-1992).
Model: Dedicated to Christopher Columbus
Serial number on blade: 16348
Materials: Precious handle in Indian rosewood with an oval bronze insert. Blade in mirror-polished stainless steel with laser engraving of the three caravels.
Accessories: Complete with the original box from the period, with red velvet insert and original leaflet.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. The blade is excellent, polished and never sharpened. A few signs of oxidation/time staining on the metal safety ring (Virobloc), as visible in the photos, due to years of storage in the box. A piece of French cutlery history, ideal for Opinel brand collectors.
