A nice piece of Japy Space Age table clock dating from the 1970s, featuring the smooth organic lines and futuristic styling that made this period of industrial design so iconic.
Its sculptural silhouette, vibrant mustard-yellow body and bold black dial perfectly embody the optimistic spirit of the Space Age era. The oversized white numerals, bright yellow hour and minute hands, contrasting red seconds hand and smoked acrylic front lens create a distinctive visual presence while ensuring excellent legibility.
The original clock movement was beyond repair and has been professionally replaced with a high-quality German-made U.T.S. Quartz movement, providing precise and reliable timekeeping while preserving the original appearance of the clock.
The original radio is present but not functional. Despite this, the clock retains its complete original design and remains an exceptional decorative object as well as a fully functional timepiece.
The plastic case is structurally sound, with no cracks, breaks or repairs. It displays only light surface marks and signs of age consistent with more than fifty years of careful use, all clearly visible in the photographs. The glossy yellow finish remains very attractive and beautifully highlights the flowing, aerodynamic shape typical of 1970s Space Age design.
