Empire-style walnut sideboard from France, dating to about 1800-1850 and 1850-1900, with external dimensions 130 × 92 × 12 cm and weight around 20 kg, featuring original mercury mirrors and gilded friezes, in good used condition with age-related signs and minor blemishes.
Description from the seller
Beautiful early Empire-style caminiera, I believe of French origin, veneered in mahogany with original gilded friezes. The undamaged mirrors are mercury-backed. In good conservation condition with some signs of age such as the right column (slightly bent) but the wood has a patina. There are also some woodworm markings, but it has already been treated, restored and polished (conservation restoration) and is ready to be hung!
Anyway, the photos are faithful to the object—please view before bidding. The caminiera measures 130 x 92 x 12 cm and weighs over 20 kg. Therefore I suggest personal pickup; otherwise I will unfortunately have to incur fairly high shipping costs.
