Deknudt - Deknudt - Bedside table lamp (2) - Patinated bronze

Vintage oriental-style table lamps were made by Belgos artisans in the last third of the 20th century. The lamp base is fashioned in the shape of a Celestial Shih Tzu lion (in the West, these creatures are interpreted as 'Fu dogs'), a traditional symbol of protection, strength, and prosperity in Chinese art. The sculptural form is emphasized by gold accents that contrast with the dark metallic surface, giving the composition expressiveness. The black fabric lampshade, framed by a gold rim, completes the image harmoniously. These lamps will become a bright interior accent, rich in symbolic meaning.
