Antique Napoléon III era jewellery box dating to 1850–1900, made of bois with laiton and nacre marquetry, featuring a central brass cartouche engraved with initials, 29 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 8 cm high, crafted in France, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and supplied with a functional key.

Description of the item
A superb storage box / jewelry case from the 19th century (Napoléon III period), showcasing high-quality cabinetmaking and parquetry work.
Main features
• Precious materials: Sumptuous satinwood veneer (thujas or elm) with highly contrasted knots, framed by blackened borders of ebony-type wood.
• Refined decoration: Complex marquetry of interlaced brass fillets, punctuated by inlays of mother-of-pearl.
• Personalization: Central brass medallion engraved with the initials "HG" in an oval cartouche surrounded by mother-of-pearl inlays.
• Interior: Beautiful inner lining clad in rosewood or ebony palisander, with a varnished finish giving a rich shine.
• Accessory: Sold with its functional key and brass lock entry.
Condition:
• Very good overall condition for an object of this era.
• Some light natural wood cracks and minor signs of wear that attest to its authenticity.
• Hinges restored at the bottom part and visible traces of glue in the photos.
