Italla - Credenza - Wood, Marble, Opaline glass

A prestigious sideboard of excellent craftsmanship, in Liberty Art Nouveau style, circa 1900–1920, made of solid wood. The central body has two doors and a central drawer, an open display compartment, and two upper doors in screen-printed glass with stylized floral motifs. On the sides are two tall columns featuring a lower door, a central drawer, and an upper door in screen-printed glass. All shelves are solid wood, with the shelves in the two side columns fully lined with a wood-toned film on the upper part. Splendid veneer enhanced at the top with wood inlays featuring fruit motifs. In the central body there is a gray marble top with white veins and a mirror with beveling on each side. Bronze handles, key-operated locks. Condition: very good; the sideboard shows some signs of age, the marble top has two scratches but can be re-polished. Under one shelf (as visible in the attached photo) there are several stamps bearing the inscription “W. BENITO MUSSOLINI,” testifying to the piece’s historicity.
