Description from the seller
Beautiful antique Willem III-style side table / work table from the late 19th century (circa 1870–1890).
This atmospheric piece of furniture is made from warm-toned walnut and immediately stands out for its very rich and deeply carved central tripodal baluster, decorated with monumental acanthus leaves and elegant volutes.
The top features characteristic scalloped corners and houses a deep, smoothly running drawer across the full width, artisanally constructed with classic dovetail joints. The interior is neatly lined with green felt.
Dimensions
Width: 83 cm
Depth: 48 cm
Height (top of table): 73 cm
Height to bottom of rail/drawer: 61.5 cm
Condition and stability:
The table is in a good and exceptionally solid antique condition. To ensure absolute stability and to prevent any wobble, a small piece of wood has been subtly added under the legs to compensate for a slight tilt in one of the legs. The table stands perfectly upright and is very stable. The top previously had a lacquer finish, which shows minor, non-distracting wear spots in places that contribute to the authentic patina.
Shipping & Assembly:
To prevent transport damage and optimize shipping costs, the table is disassembled for shipment (the top is detached from the legs). The furniture is carefully packed and shipped insured as an XXL insured parcel. Assembly afterwards is extremely simple and can be completed in moments with only 4 screws.
