An Art Deco lamp in wrought iron with a pressed glass tulip, dating to 1930–1940 and attributed to Degué, France.
Description from the seller
Magnificent wrought iron lamp with a pressed glass tulip, “attributed” to the Parisian glassworks DEGUÉ (David GUÉRON), dating from the Art Deco period (1920-1940).
David GUÉRON (1892-1950) was a renowned master glassmaker who owned the Verrerie d’Art Degué, established in Paris between 1926 and 1939.
The lamp base is forged iron, hammered, on a triangular base adorned with roses. Very fine workmanship, no decorative loss, welds intact, component in perfect condition. The fixture is perfectly matched to the glass diameter (the lamp is stable).
The wrought iron has been brushed and waxed, with a beautiful patina.
Thick, colorless pressed glass tulip, with geometric decoration.
Model listed among DEGUÉ establishments (this type of model is never signed, therefore the lamp can only be “Attributed” to Degué).
The tulip is in excellent condition after about 100 years (no cracks or damage, just minimal marks or scratches).
Circa 1920/1940
Electrical work redone: vintage brass socket for a small B22 bayonet bulb, new wire and plug (the cord is 1.30 m long for easy connection) old “Zeppelin” switch.
This antique lamp works perfectly and will be shipped with 2 bulbs (1 standard color LED bulb and 1 other colored bulb emitting red light).
I point out that B22 bayonet bulbs are readily available in stores (colored or not).
So you just have to plug in the lamp and press the switch to illuminate your interior with a century of history!
