Suggested lot title: Hans C. Andersen - Mid-Century Danish Modern Side Table - Rosewood
Description:
Elegant and refined tripod side table designed by the renowned master cabinetmaker Hans C. Andersen in Denmark during the golden era of Scandinavian design (1950s/1960s).
This magnificent piece features a circular tray-top surface with a subtly raised, organically sculpted rim. The top showcases an absolutely spectacular, deep and rich linear grain pattern, characteristic of the finest exotic woods used during the Mid-Century Modern period.
The slender pedestal stem flows with curved lines into a tripod base that is sculpted in three legs, giving a great visual lightness without sacrificing stability. On the underside remains perfectly crisp the original stamp that guarantees authenticity: "Designed by Hans C. Andersen - Made in Denmark".
Condition report:
In very good vintage condition structurally. The wood presents a beautiful color and natural patina. Structurally firm and solid. As expected for its age and use, there is a small and light mark on the outer edge of the top surface (see detailed photographs) that does not detract from the aesthetic value of this magnificent collectible piece.
