Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Two antique Louis XVI–style brass candelabras, dating to 1850–1900, made of silvered brass with five light cups on a central shaft, each measuring 36 cm high, 38 cm wide and 38 cm deep.
Description from the seller
They are two candelabras that fit perfectly into the Louis XVI aesthetic, that characteristic blend of balance, symmetry, and refinement that marked the transition from Rococo to a more restrained classicism. Here, crafted in silvered brass or German nickel silver, they retain that slightly cool, elegant glow that distinguishes noble metals when used for table or salon pieces.
The structure is classic: a stylized central shaft rises with confidence from which the curved arms extend, perfectly proportioned, ending in cups for five lights. The curves are restrained, never excessive, and the details — fluting, discreet volutes, small moldings — respond to that taste for measured ornamentation that defines the style.
The base, wide and fluted, provides stability and an almost architectural air, as if the piece rests on a base of a classical column. Everything in them speaks of the late 19th or early 20th century, when French tradition continued to set trends and European workshops produced candelabras of great presence for dining rooms, salons, and ceremonies.
They are pieces that still today maintain their ability to add gravitas to a space: elegant without rigidity, decorative without loudness, heirs of a formal language that continues to work more than a century later.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
