Description from the seller
Exceptional Wing Chair or English wing-back chair, upholstered in smooth cognac-colored leather with nailhead trim and wooden legs. The front feet are finished with the original brass wheels. It results in a seat of great comfort, intended for the reading corner, since its “ears” are designed to support the head. The leather’s condition corresponds to its age and use, lending an elegance typical of these pieces. The images serve as a description of the condition.
The Chesterfield evokes British elegance and decor for interior decoration and furniture. It is not just a chair, but part of a story. The term Chesterfield was commonly used in 19th-century England to describe a leather sofa. It is believed that the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, Philip Stanhope, gave this name when ordering an elegant and comfortable piece of furniture in the 18th century whose preferences were upholstered with deep-buttoning and rolled arms.
