Description from the seller
Designer coffee table – 70s/80s
Elegant low coffee table with a strong visual impact and a typically postmodern taste, dating from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. The design stands out for a strict, refined geometric and material contrast.
The base consists of a hollow cubic element, finely crafted with laminated marble slabs: the main panels show a warm beige/beige travertine tone with veining, framed along the edges by marble inserts in rosy/orange hues. The cube's internal structure features reinforced joints with visible angular metal profiles on the supporting base. To contrast the solidity and tactile quality of the marble, the large square top is made of thick transparent glass with glossy perimetral threads, which appears to float above the base, ensuring lightness and brightness to the room.
A timeless piece of design, perfect to complete modernist and vintage salons, or to be inserted as an accent piece in high-end contemporary settings.
Indicative dimensions:
Glass top: 81 x 81 cm
Glass thickness: 18 mm
Total height: 34
Conditions:
The table is in overall excellent vintage condition. The marble base is structurally solid and intact. The glass top shows normal light signs of superficial wear (micro-scratches consistent with the object's age); very slight and small chips/use marks along the glass profiles or edges are noted, minimal and not indicative of structural damage, as documented in the close-up images.
Shipping:
Given the glass's delicacy and the marble base's considerable weight, the two elements will be packed separately with high-density professional protective materials. Shipping on a pallet
glass thickness 1.8 cm
