Description from the seller
A beautifully preserved Grundig Record Boy portable transistor radio, manufactured in West Germany during the 1960s. Combining clean Bauhaus-inspired lines with elegant chrome trim, a ribbed cream speaker grille and textured black cabinet, this model perfectly reflects the timeless industrial design for which Grundig became internationally renowned.
From the Collection of a Radio Shop Owner.
The radio has been fully tested and is in good working order, offering reception on both LW (Long Wave) and MW (Medium Wave) bands. The original telescopic antenna extends smoothly and remains straight, while all controls operate as intended. The battery compartment is exceptionally clean and free from corrosion, an increasingly rare feature for portable radios of this age.
The cabinet remains in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of age. The original "Record Boy" badge, Grundig emblem and tuning scale are all well preserved, making this an attractive display piece as well as a functional collector's radio.
Grundig was one of Germany's leading consumer electronics manufacturers during the post-war decades. Models such as the Record Boy became synonymous with quality engineering and stylish portable entertainment, making them highly collectible examples of European mid-century design.
