Description from the seller

A striking example of late-1960s German design and engineering, this SABA Transeuropa 2000 Automatic portable transistor radio combines outstanding sound quality with timeless Mid-Century aesthetics. Finished in an elegant deep red faux-leather cabinet with brushed aluminium speaker grille, chrome accents and the original carry handle, it is one of SABA's most desirable portable receivers.

Manufactured in West Germany around 1968, the Transeuropa 2000 Automatic was positioned as a premium portable radio, featuring excellent reception, refined audio controls and SABA's renowned build quality. A beautiful collector's piece that also fits perfectly into a Mid-Century Modern or Space Age interior.

This example comes from the collection of a former radio shop owner and has been fully tested and is in good working order. The telescopic antenna extends smoothly, all controls operate correctly and the clean battery compartment shows no corrosion.
The radio operates on 5 × 1.5V D-cell batteries or via the original 220V mains connection (power cord not included).

A wonderful combination of iconic German industrial design and everyday functionality.
