Silver 5 Kopeks coin minted at the Saint Petersburg Mint during the reign of Tsar Alexander III. The obverse features the two-headed crowned Russian imperial eagle, bearing the sceptre and orb, with the empire’s territorial shields on the wings, surrounded by the official legend. The reverse shows the denomination within a crown formed by laurel and oak branches, with the date and the mint marks СПБ at the bottom. The design preserves the characteristic heraldic style of late 19th-century Russian Imperial coinage, with well-defined relief and a balanced composition. This specimen preserves an attractive original mint luster, clean surfaces and excellent detail in the features, with very light contact marks typical of its grade, fully in line with the MS64 grade awarded by NGC. A representative coin of the monetary stability achieved during Alexander III’s reign, one of the last great periods of the Russian Empire before the 20th-century reforms.
