Silver 2 Pengő coin minted at the Budapest Mint during the Kingdom of Hungary period. The obverse features the crowned Hungarian national shield, supported by two angels and surrounded by the legend of the Kingdom of Hungary, in a heraldic-leaning composition. The reverse shows the Patroness of Hungary (Magyarok Nagyasszonya) enthroned with the Child Jesus, radiating beams of light, a representation of deep religious and national symbolism very characteristic of Hungarian iconography. The specimen retains an attractive original luster, well-defined reliefs and uniform surfaces, with light contact marks typical of its grade, maintaining an excellent visual presence consistent with the MS62 grade awarded by NGC. This emission belongs to one of the most emblematic series of interwar Hungary, reflecting the close link between national identity and Christian tradition after the country’s reorganization following the Treaty of Trianon.
