Bronze nineteenth‑century candelabrum from Spain, in antique Baroque style with a gold patina, later adapted to function as a lamp with an electrical mechanism added in the 20th century, measuring 57 cm high by 17 cm wide and 17 cm deep and kept in good used condition.
Description from the seller
It is a 19th-century candelabrum that preserves all the theatricality of late Baroque, but with the peculiarity of having been adapted later to function as a lamp, which adds an extra layer of history and use.
The bronze, with its warm patina and slightly darkened by time, enhances the reliefs and provides a sense of weight and nobility. It is clear that it is an authentic 19th-century piece: the metal density, the precision of the details, and the harmony of the proportions speak of high-level artisanal workmanship.
At some point in the 20th century, the electrical mechanism was added, respecting the original structure. The socket and wiring, more recent, allow its use as a lamp, although the system already shows the passage of time and would benefit from a review or rewiring to guarantee safety and optimal operation. Even so, the intervention does not diminish the candelabrum’s charm; on the contrary, it makes it a hybrid object, where modern function coexists with historical aesthetics.
Overall, it is an imposing piece, rich in detail and with a decorative presence that transforms any space, uniting baroque solemnity with the practical life it has acquired over more than a hundred years.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
