Glass multi-layer soliflore vase signed Bendor, Art Deco, circa 1940–1950, height 35 cm, width 12 cm, depth 6 cm, green, weight 840 g, provenance Provence, France, model H. 35 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Magnificent collectible item: a large multilayer glass soliflore vase, signed Bendor in relief within the decoration.
→ The Glass Work:
This vase stands out for its remarkable acid-engraved decoration. It features a highly detailed swirling foliage motif (ivy or grapevine) with finely worked veins, rendered in superb shades of green: from deep emerald at the base to frosted pastel green on the body. The neck presents an elegant engraved twisted pattern. Light subtly passes through the opacified glass, revealing the full depth of the details.
→ Era & Signature:
Typical of the Art Nouveau / Art Deco period (1920s–1930s), the BENDOR signature (Verreries de Belle-Isle) is engraved in positive relief within the mass. It corresponds to a high-quality technical production, echoing the aesthetic codes of the great masters of the Nancy School (Daum, Gallé, Legras).
→ Authenticity & Craftsmanship:
• Thick multilayer glass.
• Base blown with a ground pontil (trace of the glassmaker’s rod polished), a guarantee of traditional artisanal craftsmanship of high quality.
→ Technical Specifications:
• Height: 35 cm
• Maximum width (fullness): 12 cm
• Neck diameter (drinking mouth): approx. 5.5 cm
• Weight: 840 grams (slim and elegant profile)
• Signature: Bendor, clearly visible at the base of the decorative motif.
Condition:
→ In perfect condition of preservation. No cracks, chips, or scratches, including at the neck and base. The glass has retained all its original brilliance and satin finish.
