Vanity box for a Chinese noblewoman from the early 20th century.
For use on a table but also for travel
Of fine quality. Plum and black lacquered.
The door opens to reveal two drawers and underneath there is a small bottom drawer.
The front panels conceal inlays
Another charming feature is the flip-up mirror. When closed it has the typical metal closures in early 20th-century Chinese style; then it flips up and the mirror appears.
Aged by time with the glass a bit cloudy but still in full splendid charm.
