Victorian brass frame from the 19th century with chromolithography on canvas.
The decorative frame and the pediment are in brass, or possibly bronze (verdigris present) with a beautiful antique patina.
The support is covered with ochre velvet edged with a textile trim, typical of Belle Époque decorative frames highlighting the Victorian style in all its splendor.
This type of frame was very fashionable among Parisian and English nobility.
Everything is original; it is beautifully crafted by hand, with superb details and arabesques on the frame and the pediment.
The weight of the metal elements is a guarantee of its quality.
The ochre velvet fabric is also in excellent condition for an object nearly 150 years old.
We can also note the superb chromolithography on canvas which has retained all its colors; the canvas is in perfect condition, as are the contrasts of the painting.
It measures 18 cm in height, 9.5 cm in width, and 2.3 cm in depth.
The inner frame measures 10.3 cm in height and 6.3 cm in width.
Its weight is 164 grams.
