Description from the seller
Tablecloth made of linen thread from the first half of the 20th century, produced in Catalonia, Spain
Measurements 130x210, approx
Condition with some wear, see photos, but generally good
Color white
Fantastic piece of linen with lace and delicate openwork, aesthetically aligned with the classic mid-20th-century European design.
Visual analysis of the piece
Pattern composition: It presents a very symmetrical rectangular structure, with a large central rectangle formed by openwork that divides the table in an elegant way.
Perimeter decoration:
The prominent large medallions or geometric "peaks" of lace fall toward the sides of the table, a classic design meant to be displayed on the sides when the tablecloth is laid.
Textile technique:
The combination of the plain-woven linen (linen or heavy-weight cotton) with the inserted openwork lace denotes meticulous craftsmanship, very popular in wedding trousseaus of the 1950s and 1960s.
