Circa 1880, 19x26 cm.
"La prière", a very beautiful vintage albumen print in very good condition, with preserved contrasts, gray tones and levels of detail ranging from TTB to Superb, attributed to Félix Bonfils.
The value of this print lies in not being mounted on an album page or cardboard backing, which is rare.
It deserves to be framed.
Will be shipped with its neutral-pH sleeve (ideal for a collection kept in good condition).
Félix Bonfils is one of the great photographers of the Levant in the late 19th century. Based in Beirut from the 1860s, he founded the house "Bonfils", which quickly became an important photographic studio and publishing house distributing views, biblical landscapes and portraits throughout Europe.
His images are distinguished by technical mastery, clear light and rigorous composition, balancing documentary ambition with a romantic gaze.
