Description from the seller
Iconoclastic essay in which Salvador Dalí settles scores with the contemporary art of his time.
With his baroque and provocative style, there he defends the heritage of the great classical masters.
Dalí asserts his visceral taste for technique and academic drawing in the face of modern currents which he deems decadent or soulless.
He particularly blames Pablo Picasso for what he calls "generalized ugliness".
It is here too that he iron ically adopts the nickname "Avida Dollars", the anagram of his name invented by André Breton, embracing his taste for commercial success.
Black-and-white illustrations.
