Superb antique fireplace garniture signed H. Luppens Brussels, dating from the late 19th century, Napoléon III era.

Beautiful complete 3-piece set, consisting of a large central clock and two matching cassolettes / cigarette-pockets, in black marble and veined red marble. The set has a very decorative presence, with an elegant contrast between the deep black marble, the veined red marble and the gilded metallic elements of the dial and the movement.

Dimensions of the central clock: approximately 46 cm in length, 15 cm in depth/width and 27 cm in height.
Total weight: approximately 13 kg.

The central clock is equipped with a mechanical movement signed H. Luppens Brussels, bearing the number 4287. A particularly interesting element for collectors: the balance wheel is also engraved with the number 4287, matching the movement's serial number. This coherence between the mechanism and the balance wheel enhances the horological interest of the piece.

An old H. Luppens Bruxelles label is also visible under the foot of one of the cassolettes, which constitutes a nice original identification feature.

Functioning: when the key is turned, the mechanism starts, the hands advance and the strike sounds. The attached video allows you to observe the clock and the strike in operation.

The clock is sold without regulation or servicing. A precision adjustment and/or horological servicing may be necessary, as is common for antique mechanical clocks of this period.

The enamel dial with Roman numerals is very decorative, with the mechanism exposed / escapement visible. The whole has a beautiful classic look and a real presence, ideal for a fireplace, a console, an antique piece of furniture, a cabinet of curiosities, or an antique clock collection.

Condition: very good overall presentation for an antique garniture of this period. The central clock is well preserved. The marble would simply benefit from a suitable cleaning to restore more brightness.

Defects noted and visible in the photos:
One of the two cassolettes shows a chipped edge around its rim, with a small superficial marble loss, visible only upon close inspection. The central clock also has a small discreet impact on the bottom right of the black marble. This defect remains very inconspicuous in normal display and is only noticeable when examining the object in detail.

The photos clearly show these two small defects. Otherwise, the set is in very good presentation, complete, heavy, decorative, and particularly interesting due to the presence of the signed movement, the balance wheel numbered correspondingly, the key, the bell, the functional strike, and the H. Luppens label.

A very beautiful piece for a collector, a fan of antique horology or classic interior decoration with character.

Given the weight and fragility of the marble, in-person pickup or highly secure transportation is recommended.
