AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A fine pair of Chinese Export Imari porcelain plates, dating to the Kangxi period, circa 1710–1725. Elegantly decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and iron-red enamels, each plate features a central chrysanthemum medallion surrounded by scrolling foliage, framed by a geometric diaper border and a floral rim. This distinctive colour combination, known today as Chinese Imari, was produced in Jingdezhen for the European export market and remains one of the most celebrated styles of early eighteenth-century Chinese export porcelain.

Diameter: 22.5 cm each

Condition:

* One plate has a small rim chip.
* The other has a visible hairline crack to the centre.
* Both show expected age-related wear and firing imperfections consistent with their age.

Despite these condition issues, the pair displays exceptionally attractive decoration, vibrant cobalt blue and iron-red enamels, and excellent decorative appeal. A desirable example of early Qing Chinese export porcelain.
