Description from the seller
This set of three antique traditional handmade wooden pastry molds is carved from a single piece of hardwood. The deep hand-carved molds feature rustic and rounded knife work, each depicting a traditional auspicious motif: two roosters and one pair of fish. These molds were practical tools used in the past for making mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival and rice cakes and other festive treats, directly showcasing traditional culinary and auspicious cultural practices. The mold cavities feature distinct relief carvings, and the outer ring has a neat gear-like border. Years of use have created a thick, natural patina on the wood, with the wood grain, wormholes, and minor cracks all original signs of wear, without any artificial aging.
