Sofa - Walnut

Antique sofa in Restoration style, carved in solid walnut. This piece, dating to the mid-19th century (circa 1830–1840), is an excellent example of the era's fine cabinetmaking art.

The sofa stands out for its elegant and imposing 'sled-frame' structure, characterized by curved and finely carved arms. The woodwork is particularly exquisite, with diamond motifs and floral scrolls adorning the arms and the front panel. The wood, in solid walnut, presents a beautiful dark patina and a well-preserved surface, testifying to its authenticity and the quality of the materials.

The structural condition of the furniture is very good, solid and stable. The original floral fabric upholstery, while showing signs of wear due to time, can be preserved to maintain the piece's authenticity, or can be easily replaced by an expert to suit a more modern taste.

This sofa is not only a piece of furniture, but a historical testament to the taste and craftsmanship of the French Restoration period.
