An Amsterdam School (Art Deco) serving dish, designed by Richard Roland Horst in 1924 for the Nederlandse Olie Fabrieken (NOF) Calve.

The dish was manufactured by Petrus Regout in Maastricht and was part of a savings action in which caps from oil bottles could be exchanged.
The serving dish was issued on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the oil factories in Delft.

The decoration features geometric patterns and the letters NOF (Nederlandse Olie Fabrieken).
The striking yellow curls on the rim and bottom symbolize beaten egg yolk and refer to the production of salad oil and mayonnaise.

Many Dutch museums have a serving dish in their collection!

Een Amsterdamse School (Art Deco) serveerschaal, ontworpen door Richard Roland Horst in 1924  voor de Nederlandse Olie Fabrieken (NOF) Calve.

De schaal werd vervaardigd Petrus Regout in Maastricht  en maakte deel uit van een spaaractie waarbij doppen van olieflessen konden worden ingeleverd.
De serveerschaal werd uitgegeven ter gelegenheid van het 40 jarig bestaan van de oliefabrieken te Delft.

Het decor bevat geometrische patronen en de letters NOF (Nederlandse Olie Fabrieken).
De opvallende gele krullen op de rand en bodem symboliseren geklopt eigeel en verwijst naar de productie van slaolie en mayonaise.

Veel Nederlandse musea hebben een serveerschaal in hun collectie!
