Peter Downsborough - Within (Time) - 1999

This book is a photographic project that investigates the passage of time, from the front cover to the back cover. Within Time defines a space between two simple elements: the face of a woman, illuminated in profile, reflected in a gray line on the opposite side of the page. As the woman's head rises and turns, the line shifts to accommodate it. The choreography is essential, yet rewarding in its subtlety.
