Description from the seller
Art Nouveau / Art Deco table lamp – Solid bronze base – Satin-moulded glass tulip signed Degué – France, circa 1925-1935.
It is composed of a solid bronze base, as evidenced by the molded “BRONZE” marked under the base, and a magnificent satin‑glass tulip moulded and signed Degué.
The design of the base stands out for its remarkable sculptural quality: a mounting with sinuous lines, adorned with vegetal and floral motifs typical of Art Nouveau, ending in a stylized corolla welcoming the tulip.
The tulip bears the Degué signature on the third fold at the front, a mark of David Guéron (1892-1950), one of the most important French glassmakers of the Art Deco period. Bronze mounts paired with Degué glassware are considerably less common than models mounted in régule, which enhances the interest of this piece.
