Description from the seller
Elegant English two-tier dumb waiter or wine table made of mahogany, dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian period (circa 1890-1920).
The piece features two beautifully shaped leaves with original brown leather inlay, richly decorated with gilded decorative motifs. The leaves are carried by a finely turned central column resting on an elegant three-pronged base.
Such tables were originally used as dumb waiters, drinks tables, or service tables for wine, liqueurs, tea, desserts and other refined refreshments during dinners and receptions. Today, it forms a particularly decorative piece of furniture that fits perfectly in a classic, country, or English interior.
Condition
Good antique condition with normal signs of wear and aging appropriate to age and use. Beautiful warm patina of the mahogany. The leather shows light wear and signs of use that contribute to the piece's authentic character. Light professional restoration to the underside of the leg.
