Description from the seller

Origin. Nigeria
Tribe name. Mumuye
Material. Wood. Brass
Dimension. 48 cm
Mode of shipment. Colissimo within 24-48h.

This pipe is distinguished by a dark wooden sculpture, integrated directly into the structure of the object.
The bowl: The base consists of a rounded furnace (bowl) shape, typical of ritual or prestigious pipes, placed here on a modern black pedestal for presentation.
The sculpted stem: The pipe stem is topped by an anthropomorphic figure carved in a Mumuyé/Mumuye distinctive style:
The figure: It presents a stylized, elongated silhouette, with arms bent along the body or toward the torso.
The head: The face bears a sober expression, typical of Mumuyé art, with a headdress or a form atop the skull that emphasizes the verticality of the whole.
Style: The piece exudes a powerful and stripped aesthetic, where the function of the object (to smoke) blends with a symbolic or spiritual function represented by the carved figure.
