The Nike SB Dunk Low "The Wizard of Oz" (also known as "Poppy Field") is a collectible sneaker released in December 2024. The model celebrates the 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz" through a design rich with hidden details and textured materials.
Narrative Design and Details:
The sneaker visually tells the famous scene from the film in which Dorothy falls asleep in the poppy field.
The Floral Upper:
The shoe is entirely covered in fabric with a floral print that evokes red poppies.
"Tear-away" Details (tear-off):
The floral outer fabric is designed to wear away with use (or to be intentionally removed), revealing a layer underneath in vibrant red leather.
Satin Tongue:
The two tongues are asymmetrical.
One bears the classic Nike SB logo, while the other displays the official inscription "The Wizard of Oz".
The Heel:
On the back of both shoes is embroidered Dorothy's famous line "There’s no place like home" ("Nessun posto è bello come casa mia").
Custom Insoles:
