Description from the seller
On offer is an original, vintage, MCM, AGA Cookshop tray, board, or platter from the early 1970s, specifically designed for use alongside AGA’s iconic cast-iron range cookers. The piece is made of premium, richly textured teakwood designed to withstand heavy kitchen usage and features two thick, cylindric wooden lifting handles attached by brass brackets. It is marked with the laser-etched AGA logo on the underside. The piece is suitable for use as a lovely serving tray, as a cutting board, as a bar cart accessory, or as cheese/charcuterie platter for the tabletop.
AGA company: The AGA range cooker was invented in 1922 by the Nobel Prize-winning Swedish physicist Gustaf Dalén (1869–1937), who was employed as the chief engineer of the Swedish AGA (Svenska Aktiebolaget Gasaccumulator) company. In 1929, AGA crossed the ocean to the United Kingdom. AGA cookers quickly became a status symbol for country living. DIMENSIONS: The circular teakwood board has a diameter of 28 cm. When including the suspended wooden handles and brass brackets extending from the sides, the total end-to-end width spans approximately 35 cm. The rim has a depth of about 2.5 cm and the board features a recessed groove.
CONDITION: The tray is in mint condition and only served as a decorative kitchen piece.
SHIPPING: The item will be carefully wrapped, packaged, and shipped with a tracking number.
