a beautiful siphon bottle in an earlier rare variation. pattern glass with tight vertical lines in uranium glass.

condition: the exterior of the bottle is in good condition. The interior of the bottle shows lime-scale traces due to frequent use.

Between 1870 and 1940 uranium – or uranium green glass was produced on a fairly large scale. Since uranium glass is still rarely produced today it is a popular collectible. Uranium was usually added in small amounts so that the green or yellow glass fluoresces when illuminated under ultraviolet light. It was mainly used in lamps, bowls, wine glasses,… among others the glass factories Leerdam, Murano and Val Saint Lambert produced uranium glass.

staat : de buitenzijde van de fles is in mooie staat. De binnenzijde van de fles vertoont kalksporen omwille veelvuldig gebruik.

Tussen 1870 en 1940 werd op vrij grote schaal uranium – of annagroen glas geproduceerd. Daar uraniumglas momenteel nog zelden geproduceerd wordt is het een populair verzamelobject. Uranium werd meestal in kleine hoeveelheden toegevoegd zodoende het groene of gele glas fluoresceert wanneer men het oplicht onder ultraviolette licht. Het werd voornamelijk gebruikt in lampen, schalen, wijnglazen,… ondermeer de glasfabriek Leerdam, Murano en Val Saint Lambert  produceerden uraniumglas.
