Description from the seller
Wainberg, a long-established Israeli workshop, handcrafts a brass enamel Jerusalem-themed nutcracker. The solid brass die-cast shield-shaped base is paired with lever-operated serrated clamping arms, combining practicality for cracking nutcrackers with collectible value as a commemorative item from the Holy Land. The base features a complete relief of the panoramic architectural complex of Jerusalem's Old City, embellished with vintage hand-painted enamel details. The pillars are carved with a Middle Eastern-style tree trunk texture. The spherical hinge opens and closes smoothly, and the serrated clamping arms engage firmly, reliably cracking various nuts.
The solid brass base shows no obvious cracks, deformation, or perforations; the relief of Jerusalem's city architecture is clear with no large areas of wear; the red, green, and orange decorative enamel shows natural wear over time, but no large areas of peeling expose the copper; the dark green enamel edging of the base is intact and without chips; the tree trunk-style pillars are unbroken; and all screws securing the spherical hinge are present.
