Chartreuse - Elixir Vegetal - b. 2024 - 10cl - 3 bottles

In 1605, Maréchal d'Estrées donated to the Carthusians of the Chartreuse de Vauvert in Paris the manuscript of an "Elixir of Long Life," composed of 130 medicinal and aromatic plants. This elixir, developed by Brother Jérôme Maubec in 1737, was named the Elixir Vegetal de la Grande Chartreuse. Today, in their distillery in Voiron (Isère), the Carthusians continue to produce this elixir, the secret of which they have jealously guarded for four centuries. The virtues of the Elixir Vegetal de la Grande Chartreuse lie primarily in the use of plants, sugar, and honey in their natural state, excluding any artificial products.
