Description from the seller
An Art Nouveau water and lemon pitcher made in Germany around 1900, in the style of WMF and comparable German electroplate workshops of the period. The body is formed from cut-to-clear crystal glass with a star-cut pattern at the base. The metal mount and handle are silver-plated and carry the aged patina consistent with period electroplate of this age. The handle is figural, modelled as a nymph stretching her body, a motif characteristic of the Jugendstil decorative vocabulary of the turn of the twentieth century. The piece stands 18.5 cm tall with a base diameter of 8 cm and weighs 444 g. No maker's mark or hallmarks have been identified; attribution to WMF is stylistic only and should not be relied upon. Condition is Very Good: the silver-plated surface shows natural aged patina with no cracks or losses noted in the glass and the figural handle is intact; the plating shows minor surface wear consistent with age and use.
