WMF - Cake stand - Metal

A cake stand or tazza produced by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), the German metalware manufacturer based in Geislingen an der Steige, dating to the Art Deco period, approximately 1920 to 1935. The piece consists of a silver-plated metal pedestal foot and stem onto which a polished glass bowl is screwed by hand, a construction method characteristic of WMF tableware production of this era. The underside of the foot bears full WMF factory marks including the company ostrich mark and additional company seals, confirming authentic manufacture. Total height is 21 cm and the bowl measures 24 cm in diameter; combined weight is 719 g. Condition is Very Good: the glass bowl shows no chips, cracks, or cloudiness, and the silver-plated pedestal displays only a light, even age patina consistent with use and age — no losses to the plating, no repairs, and no structural damage noted.
