Chinese workshop - Tray - Copper

A Chinese copper cloisonne ashtray modelled as a bison, with dragon decoration worked around the body. The piece is constructed in the cloisonne technique: copper cloisons soldered to a copper body and filled with coloured enamel. Objects of this type were produced by Chinese craft workshops during the Republican period and the mid-twentieth century for both the domestic and export markets.

Condition is Very Good. The piece shows light wear consistent with its age. No cracks, chips, or losses to the enamel are noted. No hallmarks or maker's marks are present. Dimensions: 13 x 12 cm, height 9 cm. Buyers are encouraged to examine the photographs carefully for any minor surface wear or patination.
