Description from the seller
CAMBODIA. 20 Sen. 1959.
- Value: 20 Sen.
- Year: 1959.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: ceremonial altar with rays and an inscription in Khmer around. Reverse: “ROYAUME DU CAMBODGE · 20 SEN · 1959” with the value in Khmer at the center surrounded by a vegetal wreath.
- Grading: MS67 (NGC).
Aluminum 20 Sen coin with a detailed and symbolic design, where the obverse features a ceremonial altar from which rays emanate, evoking religious and traditional elements of the country, surrounded by an inscription in ornamental Khmer script. The reverse combines colonial and local influences, with the French legend and the value in Khmer framed by a finely executed laurel wreath. The specimen is in exceptional condition, with very intense original luster, fields nearly flawless and the reliefs perfectly defined, typical of a very high grade. Issued during the Kingdom of Cambodia under Norodom Sihanouk, it reflects a period of national identity and cultural heritage in Southeast Asia in the mid-20th century.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
