Antique 3-arm candelabrum made of spelter in French Rocaille/Neo-Baroque style, dating from about 1880–1920, France, height 45 cm, width 30 cm, foot diameter 14 cm, in good antique condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Three-armed candlestick – French Rocaille / Neo-Baroque style (c. 1880–1920)
Elegant three-armed candlestick crafted in a graceful classic French style, inspired by Rocaille and Neo-Baroque periods. The design features flowing, decorative forms with rich ornamentation, typical of late 19th-century European decorative art.
The candlestick is made of régule (spelter), a light zinc alloy that was widely used during this period as an affordable alternative to bronze. The material has a bronze-colored finish, giving it a luxurious antique-looking appearance, comparable to heavy cast bronze pieces.
Given the style, material choice, and finish, the object was most likely produced in France (or possibly Belgium) between circa 1880 and 1920.
Dimensions:
Height: 45 cm
Width: 30 cm
Base diameter: 14 cm
Weight: approx. 680 g
Condition:
Good antique used condition with normal signs of aging appropriate for the age. In the candle holders and on the candlestick there are still remnants of candle wax.
Style: Rocaille / Neo-Baroque
Period: late 19th – early 20th century
Origin: France
