The Design:
Charles and Ray Eames' shell chair (1950) remains one of the most influential furniture designs ever realized. The organic, single-form fiberglass shell is ergonomically superior to its wood-based predecessors; the four-star base provides stability without visual bulk. These are not replicas—they carry the Herman Miller stamp, visible on the underside.

Condition & Transparency:
Two chairs are in good condition with normal patina. The third chair shows:

One stitching crack in the seat pad fabric (visible in images); structurally sound, cosmetic issue
A second chair has surface marks and minor scuffing in the pleather covering, consistent with age and use

All three shells are structurally intact, bases are solid and stable, and the chairs function perfectly as seating. The wear is honest—these are lived-in pieces with character, not museum pieces.
